Insight – Health Care Partners and Fighting Childhood Obesity

For 34 years, Health Care Partners of South Carolina has been meeting the medical and health needs of the underserved and persons without medical insurance in the Horry County and the Pee Dee region. Dr. Covia Stanley, former director of DHEC’s Region Six Public Health Office, is a member of the Health Care Partners board of directors. Bhakti Larry Hough interviews Dr. Stanley about the services the nonprofit organization offers.

Several South Carolina schools recently won national recognition from the Alliance for a Healthier Generation for Fighting Childhood Obesity. Southside Middle School of Florence was among them. Bhakti Larry Hough interview the school’s wellness coordinator, Michelle Hayes, about measures the school took to win the award.

      You can go to http://spinitron/wlgi to see what has been playing anytime over the past year, with links to buy the songs if you are interested. At 7:56 this morning was Gloria Estefan, Coming Out of the Dark. I'll ask our operations manager about the male singer and his mother's prayers.
