Baha'is will observe the first day of the Festival of Ridvan on Tuesday April 21st. This holy day commemorates the anniversary of Baha'u'llah's declaration in 1863 that He was the Promised One of all religions. Baha'u'llah called Ridvan the Most Great Festival and the King of Festivals.
April 21st is one of nine holy days during the year on which Baha'is should suspend work, if possible. As a result, no one will be in the offices or studios of Radio Baha’i on Tuesday. The station will continue to air music and programs during the Holy Day. We will be back in the office and studios Wednesday morning.
Please join your local Baha’i community for their Ridvan celebration, or join us on air to observe the Festival of Ridvan: Monday at 8pm and Tuesday at Midnight, 10am, or 7pm.

We have just completed a significant upgrade to our live streaming system, with you in mind. We have a new player that will stream the station in your browser with two streaming bandwidths to choose from.

New Player The browser based player means you no longer need other software, like Windows Media Player, VLC, or iTunes to stream Radio Baha’i on your computer, and you no longer need to use TuneIn on your mobile device. You can, of course, keep using those if you want.

The player will launch a new browser window that displays the album art, artist and song title for the current song, and displays the artist and title for the last five songs or programs that were played. The player will automatically choose the best stream coding for your computer, phone or tablet, and browser. You can then choose the bandwidth that works for you from the drop down menu. “WLGI High” will give you the best sound (48 kbps), while “WLGI Low” will use the least amount of your data plan (24 kbps), or work best with slow data speeds.

We suggest that when you are on wifi or connected by cable of some kind to the Internet, use the “WLGI High” stream. If you are on a mobile device on the cellular network, or if you are experiencing any drop outs, then choose “WLGI Low”.

Three recent articles about the Baha'i Faith being the 2nd largest religion in South Carolina have recently been published, based on data from the 2010 U.S. Religion Census: Religious Congregations & Membership Study. These articles do a great job explaining why Radio Baha'i, WLGI is in South Carolina.
Looking deeper into the Religion Census study, the highest concentration of Baha'is in South Carolina are in the counties that Radio Baha'i reaches: Williamsburg, Florence, Darlington, Dillon, Marion, Horry, and Georgetown.
And, that's why Radio Baha'i, WLGI 90.9 FM is in Northeastern South Carolina.
Over the next 15 years, the population of those over 65 years old in South Carolina is expected to grow to more than 2 million people, creating a myriad of challenges for the state, families and organizations and agencies that serve the aging. To help address the challenges, a new nonprofit, nonpartisan organization has been formed. It’s Sustaining Our Seniors of South Carolina. The president of the organization’s board of directors, Coretta Bedsole spoke with Bhakti Larry Hough about the organization and issues facing seniors for the current edition of Insight airing today at 10 a.m., 7 p.m. and midnight.
